Upper Mustang Trek

Shrouded in mystery and unparalleled in natural and cultural beauty the most, aweinspiring of Nepal's 75 districts is the district of Mustang. The area is part of the tibetan plateau, and is high, dry and beautiful. It lies to the north west of the Kali Gandaki, beyond Kagbeni, which is as far west as you can go on the jomsom trek. It is only possible to enter Mustang with an organised group and permits. As it is divided into two parts, upper mustang falls under the rain shadow, virtually untouched by the summer monsoon rains so characteristic of South Asia.
